ANDREA ASTRAIN
GET TO KNOW ME
Who would´ve said that what started as fun and games would become in my greatest passion. I started skating in 2015 when I moved to Mexico City. The more I trained the more I wanted to learn. Two years later I won my first Nacional Championship Title in intermediate.
In 2019 I had the opportunity to compete in my first International competition in Slovenia as a novice.
That summer I moved to Canada for 8 months to continue training, where I also competed getting 3rd in one of the competitions.
Because of the pandemic I returned to Mexico City. After returning after almost 6 months of no ice in April 2021 I had the opportunity to compete in Serbia getting 3rd place in short program junior ladies.
That year I was selected by the Federation to represent Mexico at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in Courchevel, my first Championship event. After a season full of challenges I became the Junior National Champion later in November.
In January of 2022, I qualified for the Junior World Figure Skating Championships getting the minimum score at the Skate Helena in Serbia placing second overall, wining my first international medal.
I was selected to compete for a second season at the Junior Grand Prix in Poland in September 2022, which was my last junior competition.
On October, I passed my senior test and am now looking forward to continue competing and representing my country internationaly at the senior level.
